Plugged in and setup for street tune with EGR off. Found an X4 on eBay that has older firmware. Discovered that the new SCT and most tune writers don’t support EGR delete any longer. Did research and found that I could get an SCT X4 and program a tune that includes EGR “off” in order to inform the computer that the EGR is deleted and it can keep the CEL off. Found out that the truck came with EGR deleted, which of course triggers the CEL. Dealer couldn’t fix it after having the truck for two days. The CEL came on, on the way home from dealer. Not only can a tune add 150-200+ horsepower and 300+ lb-ft of torque, but it also helps maximize the performance gains from additional mods. It may be of some use to you in your hunt.
